The Public Procurement Service has the G-Pass Companies for 2021 to support domestic procurement companies’ advancing into overseas procurement markets. 

 

The selection of G-PASS Companies is effective for five years from the date of designation. 

 

This is DongHwa Entec Co., Ltd.’s second G-Pass Company selection following its first in 2016. 

 

G-PASS Companies are eligible for the following: △Support for participation in overseas exhibitions △Overseas buyer invitation consultations △Support for exporting to overseas procurement markets △Benefit of additional scores for the domestic procurement market The Public Procurement Service provides rents for individual booths and transport costs for companies participating in public procurement-related overseas exhibitions, with opportunities to participate in a government procurement consortium. 

 

The PPS also gives consultation opportunities to G-PASS companies by inviting overseas buying organizations and foreign procurement vendors through the Korea Online Eprocurement System Expo or public procurement export consultations, with additional services as follows: one-on-one matching of G-Pass companies to local companies overseas for consultations, preparation of bid proposals for overseas government procurement and registration of procurement vendors. 

 

To those participating in the domestic procurement market, in addition to overseas, the benefit of additional scores is also given: a score of credit rating to applicants for outstanding procurement of goods, a score of credit rating regarding policy support for SME contract fulfillment ability examination and qualification examination for purchasing goods, and five more scores preferentially granted on the export company support item during the evaluation of competition for the Multiple Award Schedule phase 2. 

 

To those participating in support projects of the PPS’s partner organizations, additional scores are also given: two scores to applicants for the Korea Intellectual Property Office’s Global IP Star Company Promotion project with a 30% reduction of fee for using “Water Cluster” facilities operated by the Korea Environment Corporation. 

 

PPS Administrator Kim Jeong-woo said, “We plan to increase the number of G-PASS companies up to 1,000 this year. 

 

We will strengthen our support for exports in preparation for a normalized trading environment after overcoming COVID-19.“ 

 


*What is a G-PASS designated company?

 

G-PASS is the PPS’s support project of selecting prospective companies from among small and medium-sized enterprises deemed likely to make inroads into overseas procurement markets, and providing intensive support for their overseas government procurement activities utilizing the PPS’ overseas networks. 

 

G-PASS companies are considered from among those already recognized for their technology and reliability by the PPS through procurement services provided to the government. 

 

The target countries supported by the PPS are prospective stronghold nations in each continent, viewed as most suitable for making procurement market inroads: 14 countries had been chosen up to 2020, including China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, UAD, US, Turkey, UN, India, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Uzbekistan, with 775 companies designated up to 2021.
